The Dawn Chose Orion's futuristic concept:

Our story takes place in the future where Earth, the moon and a terraformed Mars are run by one government called The Union. The people are very unhappy with The Union, so they rebel and create The Resistance to try to change and/or even over throw The Union.

The Union creates bio-engineered "paired for life" male and female assassins to protect the government from threats. One of The Union's assassins, Orion, eventually breaks free of his control after being betrayed by The Union and his life partner, Christine Marie. He then joins and eventually leads, The Resistance.
